Bishops Cleeve has expanded enormously since the 1970s, and most of what we work on here is estate housing from that expansion — Cleevelands, Gotherington Lane, the newer developments off Stoke Road. The construction is consistent, the plots are generous by modern standards, and rear access is usually straightforward, which keeps both the build programme and the cost predictable.
The most common projects here are rear conservatories and orangeries on detached and semi-detached properties with south or west-facing gardens, and that orientation matters. A fully glazed roof on a west-facing Cleeve garden will be uncomfortable on a summer evening, so solar-control glazing or a hybrid roof is usually the right specification rather than an upsell.
The older core of the village around Church Road and Station Road is a different matter, with stone and rendered cottages where conservation detailing and flush casements are more appropriate than a standard replacement window.
